I don’t think I’ve ever been so emotionally involved with a book. I didn’t even think that was possible, to this extent atleast.
It’s expected that people will be left unsatisfied with the movie because there are many details/events that have been taken out or new parts added in. It’s expected by those who love the books but let’s keep in mind that it’s 2 and a half hour movie more or less and of course there would be many alterations. With that situation at hand I think that Gary Ross went in the right direction with his vision and came up with a product that should leave many Hunger Game Fans happy. The Acting was spectacular, the cinematography, the music, the wardrobe - everything was brilliant. So I can say that I’m not disappointed at all, I appreciate the adaptation of the book and I’m looking forward to what Catching Fire has in store.
The boy with the bread. Although I really wish they had kept the original story line of the bread scene, their adaptation really did fit in with the story. The Hob was as depressing as I Imagine it to be (it was right on.) and District 12s appearance was right on very dull, depressing - dark (dark colours), it was especially highlighted in comparison to the other richer districts and the Capitol which was filled with colour. The Capitol, very high tech - their adaptation was amazing, how anyone could even imagine such a setting is impressive, but to bring it to life… amazing. The training arena + Arena was amazing. Plus the gamemakers head quarters so fantastic! I Was not expecting the cornucopia to be that big (haha I was like woah!) Plus how they brought all the events in the arena to life in the movie was genius! Im just overall very happy with their adaptations. The scenery, the setting… the music all fit in amazingly. Such creativity. It was a beautiful film. I can’t even think properly or keep up with my thoughts, I’m not even sure i’m making any sense at this point. I just want to cry, tears of joy!
I was one of the lucky people to score some Ultra AVX tickets for the Midnight Premiere of The Hunger Games (thank God too, didn’t have to line up or anything). I’ve been anticipating this movie for months, the series/trilogy has literally been my life. Anyway, as I was counting down I literally could not keep up with my emotions. Sitting in my seat in the theatre seemed so unreal, I could not keep still. Literally had to hold my friends hand for 70% of the movie. It was just so amazing to see the movie be brought to life, and for it to be so true to the book was just such a plus. I mean I’ve been quite the potter head for years and I loved the books and the movies weren’t always up to part( but loved the movies either way) I was well aware that the movies almost never live up to the movies, yet I couldnt help but have high hopes for The Hunger Games.. The difference with The Hunger games though, setting aside all comparisons to the book, the movie itself standing alone was brilliant. Had i not read The book I’d still think that the movie was amazing. The Acting, cinematography, music all of it was brilliant. Of course the movie was missing details/events from the books here and there, and some changes I didn’t agree with (Like taking out Madge) or how the ending wasn’t how it ended in the book (which is fine, either way - I feel as though it’ll be an easy transition into Catching Fire the Movie) and the ending left many people who didn’t read the book confused (which is why they should read it…). Either way I was not diasppointed and thought that Gary Ross did a spectacular job staying true to the book. I’m over flowing with emotion, I’m completely mind blown. I absolutely suggest watching this amazing film. I’m a very happy tribute. #HAPPYHUNGERGAMES
I CAN’T CONTAIN THIS EXCITEMENT. I’M NOT EMOTIONALLY PREPARED FOR THE HUNGER GAMES.
And I went to Much Music to see the cast in Toronto the other day, and my emotions were all over the place and I can’t even keep up with my emotions. Pictures and rant will be up tonight! <3
THE CAST IS COMING TO TORONTO TODAY.
And I was supposed to go line up, I’ve been up since 5 but no one woke up to line up with me and I really am not up for lining up by myself. Im really sad, I’ve been looking forward to this for months. Sad girl is SAD.
