Peeta Mellark, Augustus Waters, Ky Markham& Sam Roth - Such perfection doesn’t exist in reality, but maybe that’s why we write about them. If we don’t appreciate what perfection can be we can’t truly see the human nature behind flaws. Without reading about what we want we cant truly see the effort and sacrifice put into trying to be perfect. I mean that’s what matters right? Trying. Perfection is so overrated, that’s why it sells. I mean as much as I want to have a Peeta Mellark in my life, having someone like that ruins the whole Idea of Peeta- the whole idea of an Ideal guy. When we read a book and learn to love a character (Specifically a boy in this case) our first initial thought is, “I wish those kinds of guys existed outside of this book” and truly that was my initial thought. Thing is, plenty of those guys exist but we tend to search for a story like a love story like twilight, or The notebook or ETC that we forget about the one story that actually matters, our own. That’s why there are books, to escape to explore but not to live in one. I know someone, who’s amazing and I’ll tell you this - he is nothing like the characters I read about. He makes mistakes, he’s destructive, he’s complicated but for some odd reason he tells a story just like any of the characters listed about. What gives him the upper hand? He isn’t some made up character, he’s a real person with flaws yet he has the ability to be like any of them. And I guess that’s what we have to realize. That perfection comes in different shapes or forms. In a sense that imperfection is perfection. Quite the contradiction I’ve arrived to. I don’t even remember what I had initially wanted to blog about or if anything i had just said made sense. Nonetheless Books are a wonderful thing, they can help you view things in a different way. Enlighten you with such detail that you’d never expect to see with the human eye. Like me for example, I’ve just participated in a debate with myself over books and reality. Funny story, I don’t think I’ll ever conclude a solution for this predicament I’ve developed within me. And that’s the beauty of it.
